Much of Bristol's event work sits around the Floating Harbour. Harbourside venues, museums and hotels host receptions, launches and conference dinners, and the restaurants and bars around Wapping Wharf, King Street and Welsh Back run a busy weekend trade. Near Temple Meads, converted station and warehouse spaces carry exhibitions, awards dinners and private parties, and Bristol Beacon on Colston Street brings concerts with bars that must be open well before the first half.
Sport and summer set the rest of the calendar. Ashton Gate is home to both Bristol City and Bristol Bears, so matchday lounges run most weekends from August to May. In July the Harbour Festival takes over the waterfront, and in August the Balloon Fiesta at Ashton Court draws crowds over four days. Beyond the city, country houses, barns and estates across Somerset, the Cotswold edge and South Gloucestershire book full floor teams for weddings.
Salt Social People is based in Newcastle upon Tyne, around five hours from Bristol by train. We are recruiting a South West team the same way we recruit at home: interview, two references, a paid trial shift. That team is small today, so we would rather be straight with you. At booking we tell you within two hours what we can fill with people who live locally. Where a job is bigger than our Bristol bench on that date, we either fill the gap with our travelling core team, with travel and any hotel shown at cost on their own lines, or tell you the number we can deliver. Multi-day work, like a festival weekend or a conference run, suits that model best. Bath, Weston-super-Mare and South Gloucestershire are quoted on the same card.
Bristol and the South West are charged at the national rate. There is no regional uplift. Travel, and a hotel for multi-day work where needed, is at cost and shown as its own line on the quote.

We are building a South West team, and we are honest that it is still small. At booking we confirm within two hours how many people we can fill locally. For larger jobs we add people from our travelling core team, with travel and hotel at cost, and tell you exactly who is coming and from where.
The national rate card: Core £25.00, Skilled £28.00, Lead £34.00, senior chef £40.00 per hour ex VAT. No regional uplift, no surge pricing, four-hour minimum per person.
Yes, if you ask early. We supply Core bar staff, admissions and event crew with a Lead to run each bar. Festival weekends suit a travelling team well, because the same people work every day and are briefed once.
Yes. Skilled-tier box waiters at £28 an hour ex VAT, Core bar staff at £25 and a Lead at £34 to run the room. Tell us the fixture and the covers and we confirm names within two hours.
Yes, on the same card. No travel charge within 15 miles of the worker's base; beyond that, travel at cost, agreed before you book.
The hourly rate stays the same. Travel and accommodation are shown at cost on their own lines, with meals at £20 per person per day. For a single short shift we will tell you honestly if travel makes it poor value.
No. Door supervision and security need an SIA licence and we refer that to a licensed partner. We do supply stewards, admissions and event crew.
